Suggestion

Need to transition the pi-apps scripts and user data (if available and necessary) to these releases. Appimage releases were deprecated a few months ago and get no new versions.

No probably not since the timeline is entirely different.

Yes it will fix that but only because the appimage was never updated to include the fix that got included in maintained releases.
