If you don't know what a VPN is google brave it. These set of commands work for me on 64 bit Raspberry pi 5. It would be great if someone else could check. The scripts do not use all of the Pi App install package commands as proton VPN does not exist in the usual apt repository. But yet the script should work. When the Gnome keyring opens, keep closing it until the app loads.
Confirmations
I have confirmed that this app is legal and not piracy.
I have read the app eligibilty rubric App eligibility rubric #185 and confirmed this app is suitable for addition in Pi-Apps.
This has been discussed before in issue #2617, it seems like many people (including this issue author) don't bother checking issues in the issues search box and hence why there is even a code of conduct to atleast mention the common rules that people can ignore with normal issue making rules:
Specific Guidelines for Contributions
For Issues:
Search before you submit: Make sure your issue (for example adding an app) hasn't been reported already. (this is still for now a problem and people can ignore this rule)
This issue will likely be closed by the contributors as duplicate.
What is the name of the app?
Proton VPN
Where is the app hosted?
Proton's servers.
