Running the code now gives SyntaxWarnings. They don't do any harm to the output but should be fixed.
It is caused by invalid escape characters in the docstrings

Can be fixed using r''' docstring ''''
But first review if backslashes can be removed from docstrings.
Then regenerate documentaiton with Sphinx
