As part of our commitment to the Python community, we are pleased to announce
12+

13+
EuroPython.

You’ll find all the information you need to apply for such a grant below.

## Grant Types
36+
37+
You can apply for three different types of grants:
38+
39+
40+
1. **Free Ticket Voucher Grant:** Get a voucher for a free standard ticket for
41+
the in-person conference.
42+
2. **Travel/Accommodation Grant:** We will reimburse travel and/or accommodation
43+
costs up to €400.
44+
3. **Visa Application Fee Grant:** Get reimbursed for the costs of a short-stay
45+
Schengen visa to the Czech Republic (up to €80).
46+
47+
48+
## Grant Eligibility
49+
50+
Our grants are open to everyone in need of financial support to participate in
51+
EuroPython. We will look at the following criteria to help decide who qualifies
52+
for a grant:
53+
54+
1. **Contributors:** We want to support those who make the Python community
55+
a positive, inclusive and welcoming space. We welcome grant applications
56+
from folks who need financial support and who clearly put effort into
57+
the community and EuroPython, including speakers, volunteers, community
58+
organizers, and open-source contributors.
59+
2. **Social & Economic factors:** Everyone should have a chance to attend
60+
EuroPython, regardless of their social or economic situation.
61+
3. **Diversity:** We want EuroPython to be the most diverse and inclusive event possible, and we are especially committed to helping those from underrepresented groups in tech feel welcome, participate fully, and contribute to our community.
62+
63+
64+
## How to apply
65+
66+
You can apply for Financial Aid by filling out the form.

71+
72+
The data we collect on this form will exclusively be used by our Financial Aid
73+
team for the selection of grant recipients and the processing of financial
74+
aid refunds. No data is passed on to third parties, except to our accountants
75+
and the bank in order to process the refunds. We use Google Forms for the
76+
processing and Google Drive for storing the relevant information.

## Timeline
83+
84+
Grants will be awarded in two rounds. This makes it easier for us to reallocate
85+
grants in case grant offers were rejected in the first round. Receiving a grant
86+
early is also beneficial for people having to apply for a Schengen visa.
87+
88+
If you’ve applied for the first round, you will automatically be considered
89+
during the second round if you did not receive a grant during the first round.
90+
You do not have to reapply separately for the second round. **In fact, if you
91+
want to increase your chances of receiving a grant, it is recommended to apply
92+
early.**
93+
94+
**Note:** dates in the timeline follow the [Anywhere on Earth][AoE] convention.

## Grant Policies
178+
179+
### Policies for all grants
180+
181+
- Please note that all grants and grant offers are personal and
182+
non-transferable.
183+
184+
- You must accept a grant offer before the relevant acceptance deadline stated
185+
in the timeline. The grant offer will expire otherwise.
186+
187+
- The Financial Aid Team may also make grant offers outside the two main rounds
188+
of selection.
189+
190+
191+
### Free Ticket Voucher Grant
192+
193+
- You will receive an **individual voucher code** for a free **regular**
194+
conference ticket that gives you access to the three main conference days.
195+
196+
- If you have already purchased a ticket prior to being granted a free Financial Aid ticket voucher, please request a refund for the paid ticket separately before using the voucher to claim your free ticket. The Financial Aid programme cannot reimburse you the cost of tickets you previously paid for directly.
197+
198+
### Travel/Accommodation Grant & Visa Application Fee Grant
199+
200+
If you received a travel/accommodation grant or a visa application fee grant,
201+
you will be reimbursed **after the conference** via PayPal or bank transfer
202+
(SEPA/Swift). We will only reimburse you after we've received your
203+
receipt/invoices and a **photo of your conference badge**.
204+
205+
In addition, please pay close attention to the following:
206+
207+
- The total combined travel/accommodation grant cannot exceed €400, unless otherwise agreed.
208+
- The Visa Application Fee Grant cannot exceed €80.
209+
- Reimbursements will be made **after** the conference via PayPal or bank
210+
transfer (SEPA and Swift). It’s not possible to be reimbursed before the
211+
conference or by other means, such as cash.
212+
- Note that we might experience difficulty transacting with certain countries
213+
due to sanctions or international regulations.
214+
- Reimbursements will only be made after we’ve received your
215+
travel/accommodation receipts/invoices. The deadline to submit your
216+
receipts/invoices is **25 July 2025** [Anywhere on Earth][AoE].
217+
- Please make sure that your receipts/invoices contain the information necessary
218+
for us to validate them. At the very least, they should contain your name, the
219+
date, the amount, and specify what the receipt/invoice is for.
220+
- Reimbursements will only be made to individuals who actually attended the
221+
conference. Please include a **photo of your conference badge** with your
222+
receipts/invoices.
223+
- Please consider the risk of travel restrictions: choose flexible booking
224+
options that allow you to cancel in case you can’t actually make it to the
225+
conference.
226+
- If you’ve applied for a grant or accepted a grant, but cannot make it to the
227+
conference, please contact us at [finaid@europython.eu][email-finaid] as soon as possible. This
228+
allows us to reallocate your grant to someone else.
229+
