Is Blackhole using my Mac's ADC

Hi,
I have a question about regarding Blackhole and how audio is saved/generated?

When a sound is playing on my computer and sound is captured by Blackhole virtual audio driver is the ADC (analog to digital converter) of my computer used to capture the sound?

BlackHole is a Loopback driver. The output to BlackHole becomes the input. No audio is saved. Devin

In light of your answer I understand that my question made little sense, let me try to reframe my question.

When BlackHoles loopback driver makes audio available to e.g. Audacity how is the audio recorded, is the Macs ADC involved in sampling the audio?

If yes, would it make sense to get an external audio interface for better audio quality?

BlackHole doesn’t care how DAWs record audio. That’s is up to the DAW. But to answer your questions about a DAC. No, a DAC has absolutely no influence on recording quality from BlackHole. That is entirely the DAW. Devin
