Probably, I do not have time to test media playback again, and I currently know its stable. I'd be happy to update it after the release. I was thinking to use your ffmpeg-rockchip 7.0 branch, do you know if it has any problems or should we stick with 6.1 for now? |

I would recommend keeping 6.1.1 to be consistent with Ubuntu 24.04. As for 7.0, it's best to wait for more point releases to ensure some upstream regressions are discovered and fixed. https://github.com/FFmpeg/FFmpeg/tags |

Did the MPP changes find their way into the build in the end? I'm having issues with mpph265/264 encoder elements in gstreamer that I wasn't in the 5.10/Ubnt22 builds. I don't really know where to start with proper debugging either... Not sure if it's an mpp issue, gstreamer issue or something with the build... |

The new estimate for the beta is April 11th. But the extra time has had me thinking and I want to migrate this entire project over to live-build to follow upstream Ubuntu. This will allow me to easily maintain a lot of boards and spend little time on the build system as I would prefer to work on other tasks such as supporting new boards, package maintenance, u-boot development, and kernel development. I won't have this ready for a while and I may decide against this as there is a high chance I will no longer be able to host desktop images on GitHub due to file size limitations. |

I am looking into it, I will reach out to GitHub directly and I have contacts with multiple companies that I've worked on supporting their hardware, I hope they will be able to help. But I still need time for the desktop images, the server images are ready to go. |

Hi @Joshua-Riek, Would like to know whether the latest 6.1.43 on Unbuntu Noble supports Opi5-Plus RTL8852BE-CG WiFI Module? Previous when I tried it on your build #249, WiFi connection was not successful. Infinite loop on trying to connect but ultimately failed. Reported it here earlier #613 (comment). Thank you for your great works. |

It will work, I had to upgrade the driver to support loading compressed firmware. However, I'm still waiting for Ubuntu to finish building packages for the Beta so there is not much I can do right now. |

The beta images for Ubuntu 24.04 server should now be ready per the build below. But there is a bug where hdmirx spams the journal, I suspect this to be a kernel problem. it will have the device tree compiled into the kernel, so you will need to manually change the device tree. I made a new wiki page to document the process and a few other things. I may remove the desktop images from the beta release, we need to wait for ubuntu to update their package servers, there are to many for me to port over myself to fix the installer issue. |

Ubuntu 22.04 is safe to keep using, I'm doing a complete re-work of Ubuntu 22.04 so I can maintain everything much easier. After this re-work is complete, I will recommend users to re-install their system, but it's not required as updates and bug fixes will still be distributed. The re-work will include a few packages to assist with distributing updates, and the kernel will be packaged following official Ubuntu guidelines. It's nothing major but helps me greatly when it comes to future maintenance. |

Some package creates those files when building the Ubuntu image. I've not looked into it as I don't see it causing a problem other than being a little odd. |

There is no uniformity in the color scheme when playing video content and recording it in mpv format. nanopc-t6 Video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7dy1B6bOeM playing in color format bt709, chrome-browser. This video is played in mpv in bt2020 color format. Recording this video in a mkv container with mpv; when played back, it plays in the color bt709, but with even more lightening than in bt2020. There is probably no consistency in color format handling ... .rkmpp mpv ffmpeg ??? |

I plan to improve RK3566 support in the future, but it will not be addressed in the upcoming Ubuntu 24.04 release. I'm primarily trying to improve the build system so I can easily maintain and add support for new devices. |
