🐎 Hi, I’m Laura Obermaier. As a Florida State University (FSU) Alumni and current Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT) Masters
student, I've earned my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science while undertaking the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program from August to June
and am pursuing my Masters in Software Engineering with
Graduate Certificates; namely, in Machine Learning and Cyber Security.
🫘 With a
GPA and only
years to earn my Bachelors (note only
entrance credits) as an honors student making the presidents list
times and dean's list
times, graduating before
I turned
has been one of my greatest achievements so far. Currently, I hold a
GPA and will be a course assistant for the upcoming Spring
semester.
🎻 I’m interested in Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Machine Learning (especially Natural Language Processing). Currently, I am seeking an internship position remote or in-person in the NYC area for Summer . I love to work in teams that are dedicated. Even if not everyone is equally skilled, drive is the main
factor that, in my opinion, makes up a good team.
👞 Outside of programming, my main interests and hobbies are resistance training, cooking, ceramics, skin care, and anime. Plants and tailoring have also been recent interests of mine.
🦬 As for my background, I am fluent in both German and English and have spent over years studying French. My formative
years were spent in three different countries: Germany, China, and the United States. Moving to Beijing, China for family
reasons at the age of
; then to Florida, United States at
; and finally to New York, United States at
; I consider
myself to have gained open-mindedness and an appreciation for different cultures during this time.
🍯 In terms of character, my most pronounced characteristics are my time management, dedication, focus, and calm; but also my introversion. I put both my strengths and weaknesses here as I believe everyone to have them and as I have found a lack of honesty to be only briefly effective at accomplishing one's goals.
