On my old 3ds XL, I tried to add custom badges using both the 3dsx version and the cia version, the badges are in both the badges folder on the root and in 3ds/gytb/badges, and I always get this error:

Extdata exists.
NNID found: 00000000
Checking for preexisting Badge Arcade badges to dump...

The badge arcade has never even been installed on the system and there are no badges, so there's also no option for it in the home menu options.

The same thing happened to me, try downloading badge arcade from the h shop and run it, it should say the nnid doesn't match and delete badge arcade data. Then try gytb again.

Well the rabbit just tells me that I need a nnid in order to play and tells me how to get one, the system apparently doesn't have a nnid

Just browsing this, if you're talking about Pretendo, we don't currently support Badge Arcade.
