Load Project Screen

Loading Projects

The primary goal of the PowerShell Compact-Archive Tool is to compile any ZDoom-based projects. To achieve this, you will need to specify the location of the project's source files that will be compressed into a PK3 file. This can be done using the Load Project feature which can be accessed from the Main Menu.

Accessing the Load Project

Selecting Projects

When accessing the Load Project screen, you will be prompted to select a project folder using Windows' Folder Browser. Make sure to select the root folder of the project's source files. If the correct location is not selected, the game engine may not be able to use the project's assets properly. For more information, please refer to the 'Using ZIPs as WAD Replacement' section from the ZDoom Wiki.

Additionally, while only one project can be selected at a time, you may freely load a different project at any time.

Project Compatibility

No changes are necessary to the ZDoom-based project or the PowerShell Compact-Archive Tool itself in order to compile any project into a compressed PK3 file. However, optionally, a Project File can be used to enable additional functionality with this tool. Otherwise, PSCAT will be able to compile any project without additional configuration.
