Welcome

I would like to personally thank you for providing feedback or reporting bugs regarding this application. This software was created to be freely available for anyone to use at any time, for any ZDoom-based project. Your feedback helps me continue to improve the program, ensuring it remains useful for years to come.

Additionally, thank you for your time and patience. I understand that we are all busy, juggling goals and demands. Your helpful input not only improves the application for your needs but also benefits others who use this tool. My goal is to keep this program simple and user-friendly for you and fellow game designers.

We are all creators, and as creators, we need the right tools to accomplish our tasks. By helping each other, we can continue to create some really cool stuff.

Thank you so much for your time, patience, and energy.

Reporting a Bug

If you encounter a bug within the application, I highly encourage you to create a new ticket on the Issues Page of this project. My goal is for your experience with the program to be positive, as it should be both user-friendly and functional. When creating a new ticket, please keep the following in mind:

  • When reporting a bug, please try to keep the tone neutral. I completely understand that bugs and issues can be frustrating, especially when the tool should just work. Like many, I also get upset when things don’t go as expected. However, please remember that contributors and I don’t always catch every bug before a release. Once reported and validated, the issue will be evaluated and addressed in a future build.
  • Please be patient after submitting your bug. It may take some time to address, especially if it’s a more complex issue. Keep in mind that those working on the project also have their own lives and primary jobs to manage.
  • Please avoid making demands.** No one working on this project is paid hourly or salaried, and even if you make a donation, it will not speed up the process of resolving your issue. Please have patience

When creating a new ticket, please follow the checklist provided below. This will help me - and possibly others - understand how to reproduce the bug you're experiencing, and provide the information needed to correct it.

  • Description of the Bug
Please provide a detailed description of the bug you are experiencing.
  • Program Version
Specify the version of the program you are currently using.
  • PowerShell Core Version
Specify what version of PowerShell Core you are using with this program.
  • Operating System
What Operating System are you using?
  • Screenshot of the Error (Optional)
Providing a screenshot is optional, as not all bugs can be visually detected. However, if it is possible to capture the error visually, please do share a screenshot using the Windows Snipping Tool or other variant programs.
  • Steps to Reproduce the Bug
Provide a clear, step-by-step guide on how to reproduce the bug you are experiencing.
  • Resources Required to Reproduce the Bug
If the bug can only be reproduced with a specific file, please include that file with your submission.
  • Program Logs
Attach the logs generated by the program in your submission in a Zip or 7Zip file.
You can find the logs at: %LocalAppData%\PowerShell Compact-Archive Tool\
  • What Project Was Loaded Into the Program
What ZDoom project was loaded into the program? This information can help when reviewing the log files.

Suggesting a New Feature

Have a great idea to improve this program? Or perhaps a suggestion to make a task easier or more efficient? I highly encourage you to share your feature request on the Issues Page. Your input could have a significant impact, not only on your own experience, but for others as well. While there’s no guarantee that every request will be added to the program, please don’t be discouraged. Feature requests may be declined for a variety of reasons, such as the ones listed below:

  • Will others genuinely benefit from it?
  • Is the feature worth the cost of developing it?
  • Is it too complex to implement?
  • How much energy to make it happen....
  • Is it out of scope?
  • Is it even possible???

When submitting a new feature request, please be as detailed as possible in your description. If it's a feature you would like to see added, it would be helpful to know how you envision it being implemented into the program.
