When it comes to privacy and security I think you greatly underestimate the stupidity of Bambu Labs. |

In the immediate future it is likely they will switch to the Bambu Connect protocol and later focus on finding a optional workaround for the restrictions. I imagine is just a matter of investigating how the new Bambu Connect auth system works and implementing that in Orca |

We will support both the old and new way of connecting to the printer, with an option for you to chose from. |

Just because Bambu is offering breadcrumbs doesn't mean you have to pick them up. I imagine the maintainers have a sense of responsibility to their users. But this is Bambu's breaking change and the offered solution is hostile to you and to the open source community. So let Bambu go ahead with their breaking change and bear responsibility for it. Don't make this change, and don't accept or take any more Bambu specific code changes because Bambu cut you off from working with their printers anyway. |

@SoftFever, could you please give us your opinion of the effect that Bambu's plans will have on OrcaSlicer?
The world seems to be exploding with speculation and rumors. I suspect it will ultimately be a non-issue, but my guesses are as un-informed as any.
