I, for one, do use TiddlyDesktop as a project manager because it can open any kind of local file in whichever (local) app I want it to. If there is any way to turn off spell-checking (and Google snooping) I would like to know how to do it. Thanks.
TiddlyDesktop by default has an extremely chatty connection to a Google spell-check API. As a result, according to the OP:
I'm not a user of TiddlyDesktop, but got involved in a discussion via a Mastodon thread (hat tip: Mark_S.)
That thread has additional information and is worth reading through.
