Missing something basic

System Setup - i7 with 32GB RAM using Docker and Portainer.
I have had great initial success using NPM Plus (BIG thumbs up to the devs for all the hard work).
I have my own registered domain and have set up a number of subdomains for various services. These have corresponding entries in NPM and each point to different ports on the host machine. (same machine docker is on and NPMPlus).

I have installed Wordpress in a container and can navigate to 192.168.x.x:8080 to get to the web site.
In NPM I have a proxy host that points to http 192.168.x.x 8080 and is using the same SSL Certificate as all the other sub sites, however when I go to domain.name, I get directed to domain.name:8080 (which cannot be reached).

If I change the proxy host entry to point to another device 192.168.x.y on port 80, I can go to domain.name and it makes an SSL connection to the web page on that device.

As everything else runs fine, I would have expected the proxy host to direct incoming port 80 traffic to port 8080 on the LAN device.

I've tried different browsers and cleared caches (in case its something to do with the browser holding on to data) and not met with success.

What have I missed or misunderstood?

Is wordpress correctly configured?

Nothing is set. (Might be what I need to do)
(NPM and Wordpress are running in different containers on the same machine)

I don't have any idea what to set it too.
I've also ready today that many others have similar issues with wordpress not playing nice with npm.. as yet I've not seen a solution that works for me...
