AZW3 books not opening on Calibre

Hello,
I just learned about Calibre and downloading books from Amazon to save as e-books on there. I downloaded the latest version of the DeDRM plugin and followed the directions on installing it to Calibre. I then tired to open a book from Amazon on there and it did not work. (I have a macOS and I am on Sonoma version 14.4.1; and I am downloading books from a Kindle PaperWhite)

I got this report after I tried:
Blacklisting the DeDRM plugin as it is too old and causes crashes
ApplicationPaletteChange event ignored
Using calibre Qt style: True

Update to DeDRM 10.0.9: https://github.com/noDRM/DeDRM_tools/releases/tag/v10.0.9
For books downloaded directly to the Paperwhite, you will also need the KFX Input plugin: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291290

Enter your Paperwhite's serial number in DeDRM's customization.

I downloaded the updated version of the DeDRM and installed to Calibre.
I still go this error message:

Do I need to enter the serial number for the DeDRM to work on Calibre or for putting ebooks onto the Kindle? (Also I am not sure where to go to enter he serial number).

The key to unlock the DRM is derived from the serial number. In calibre, go to Preferences > Plugins and select DeDRM under File type plugins. Click Customize plugin > Kindle eInk ebooks > green plus sign. Easiest way to enter the serial number correctly is copy and pasting it from your devices page on the website. Click ok and apply on your way out and restart calibre.
