Read the "Symbolic Names" from the Siemens S7 PLCs instead of defining the "Addresses" of the values in the PLCs seems to be new way to go. Reading addresses is considered a legacy method to read values.

Therefore I'd be glad if SFC supports "Symbolic Names" as well.

This requires a library for the S7Comm Plus protocol, which is not publicly available, as well as any information needed to implement it.
At re:Invent we showcased a demo and also ran workshop, using TIA portal exports, for automatic configuration of the SFC S7 adapter.
We’re considering adding functionality in the SFC adapter that can use such an export file to lookup addresses for configured symbol names in the adapter.

Can this project perhaps help? https://github.com/thomas-v2/S7CommPlusDriver/tree/master

The developer writes "The aim is to develop a communication driver that allows access to the variable budget of S7 1200/1500 controllers via symbolic access to so-called “optimized” areas."

@arieleeuw thanks again :-)

Looking forward to it
