Install an old version (v1.28.80), upgrade to the current version and change the default engine to something else. Reset settings and check that the default engine got reset back to the default engine in 1.28.80 (Google).

Note, I was unable to get this older version to install on my Ubuntu 18.04.6 VM. Per discussion via https://bravesoftware.slack.com/archives/C7VLGSR55/p1747836385359699?thread_ts=1747181044.485099&cid=C7VLGSR55 I skipped this case.
