This happens when having multiple windows open, each within a different profile. When switching from the window in one profile to the window in another profile through macOS stage manager, the now active window is partially frozen. The tab selector is interactive, and you can change tabs, but the content of the tab does not render. On the initial tab that was active you see a frozen image of the tab content, but when switching tabs, the other tabs are all blank. This effect remains several seconds, after which the tab content renders and becomes interactive again.
This only happens under these exact circumstances: different profile and switching through stage manager. When switching through e.g. mission control, the new window is immediately interactive. Same when both windows belong to the same profile. This also does not happen when coming from another app, only if coming from another Brave window in a different profile.
Steps to reproduce
Open window in a profile
Open new window in another profile
Switch from window 2 to window 1 through stage manager (macos)
Actual result
You can switch tabs, but tabs remain blank and/or non-interactive. This remains several seconds so.
Expected result
Same as when both windows belong to the same profile, or if you switch through some other means: the first window is immediately usable.
