The MacOS build currently fails because of this.

running into the same issue on arch linux and g-ir-generate 1.80.1

how about running the last good version of g-ir-generate over the current set of typelib files (which presumably don't change too often) and checking the output into this repo to break the dependency on g-ir-generate while the bindings are being developed?
