Custom Icons in the icon chooser

I know this has been discussed in some other issues. But with the new "Button group field", it's getting more frustrated to not find the right icons in the build in chooser. We are using this plugin a lot (https://github.com/hybridinteractive/craft-position-fieldtype) But this behavior can be build totally with the new "Button group field". Only those icons are not an option to choose.

Also, this plugin we are using a lot (https://github.com/hybridinteractive/craft-width-fieldtype). Also, this could be the new field. But again we miss the right icons in the fontawsome set.

So it would be great to either add custom icons to the chooser in Craft or to upload a custom icon to an option in the button group field.

This will give us the option to ditch two dependencies in favor of the new native field.

It would be a pretty big lift to allow custom icons.

If there are specific icons you’d like included, we’re happy to get those in.

I get that it's a big ask. But the icons I want are not even available in the fontawsome lib.
I'm probably being very naive here, but it would just be nice to have an extra folder in the config folder with my custom .svg's. And maybe a config file to name them correctly. And when these are provided to have an extra tab in this modal, labeled "My icons" or something (or configurable?)

I haven't dived into the inner workings of Craft yet (the frontender I am), so my grasp on the complexity of this is very slim.
But it would open up a lot of possibilities to make a better user experience.

I second this especially now there's an Icon field.

I think this could use the same kind of configuration as CKEditor where each field has it's own json / php config.
