Give whole vertical space to the list

I was playing with colors and came to the conclusion that it will look cleaner if the list will take all the vertical column space. And/Or better to move the caret by one character away from the edge.

Hi @Bellavene - so nchat currently has the following (hard-coded) paddings:

• contact list: horizontal padding 1
• history/message view: horizontal padding 1 (0 when contact list is hidden), vertical padding 1

I think it would be simple to make contact list padding configurable. Question is whether it would be useful for history/message view as well?

Do You mean that text box may be then too small? I think that caret will be at the same column as last received message then, user's focus will jump less between the last message and input box, which I see as an enhancement.

Ah, sorry I think I misinterpreted the original description, I understand now what the request is - that the chat list should use the entire left column height. Actually in nchat v0.x-v1.x the UI was laid out like that https://github.com/d99kris/nchat/blob/v1.10/doc/screenshot.png

(And the request is not about configurable margins/paddings)

I'm not sure how simple such a change would be, the UI is a bit too hard-coded currently. I'll take a look and see though, in case it's something not too cumbersome.

Also, if it isn't too hard, you can set name on the status line as selector of the list. So the list will rotate itself vertically while selecting and the input message will be right on the next column under the chat. It is a bit strange that the chat name repeats two times now.
