MOISTURE
retention_flag 2 Allows retention of particles due to surface wetness. 1 is linear, 2 is exponential, 0 is none, 3 is retain all
use_obs_retention_flag 0 Uses the observed moisture to determine the surface retention, if available
water_spray_flag 1 Allows spray from the road surface
drainage_type_flag 3 Allows drainage from the road surface. 1 is with exponential decay, 2 is instantaneous, 3 combined
surface_humidity_flag 2 Sets the method for describing the surface humidity. 1 is linear, 2 is exponential
use_salt_humidity_flag 2 Allows road salt concentrations to influence the surface humidity and melt temperature, 2 for keeping staurated NaCl vapour pressure in oversatured
retain_water_by_snow_flag 1 If > 0 then scales the snow depth (mm w.e.) to stop the drainage of water.
ENERGY BALANCE
evaporation_flag 2 1 = energy balance with ice and sub-surface, 0 = none
canyon_shadow_flag 3 Use the street canyon dimensions to shadow the road. 1 is canyon 2 is skyview 3 is combined
canyon_long_rad_flag 1 Use the street canyon dimensions to produce long wave radiation
use_subsurface_flag 2 Use the underlaying subsurface in the energy balance calculations. Set to 1 for air temperature, 2 for surface temperature
use_melt_freeze_energy_flag 0 Include the melting and freezing energy in the surface energy calculations
use_traffic_turb_flag 1 Use the enhanced turbulence and heat flux for traffic
use_stability_flag 1 Use atmospheric stability in sensible heat fux calculation. Default is 1 (on)
use_energy_correction_flag 1 Add correction term to the energy balance, based on the difference between modeled and observed surface temperature.
ACTIVITY
use_salting_data_1_flag 1 Allows salting, either from the input data or by rule for salt type 1 (NaCl). Other than 1 is scaling
use_salting_data_2_flag 0 Allows salting, either from the input data or by rule for salt type 2 (Binder). Other than 1 is scaling
use_sanding_data_flag 1 Allows sanding, either from the input data or by rule (Is scaled here because Trondheim data is used. Auto will be increased by a factor of 10 to compensate)
use_ploughing_data_flag 1 Allows ploughing, either from the input data or by rule
use_wetting_data_flag 1 Allows wetting to occur, either from the input data or by rule
use_cleaning_data_flag 1 Allows cleaning, either from the input data or by rule
auto_salting_flag 1 Allows salting by rule (1 over rides the input data values, 2 adds to input data for both salts)
auto_binding_flag 1 Allows binding by rule (1 over rides the input data values, 2 adds to input data for salt 2 only)
auto_sanding_flag 1 Allows sanding by rule (1 over rides the input data values, 2 adds to input data)
auto_ploughing_flag 1 Allows ploughing by rule (1 over rides the input data values, 2 adds to input data, 5 is used when Trondheim data involved)
auto_cleaning_flag 1 Allows cleaning by rule (1 over rides the input data values, 2 adds to input data)
binding_salt_flag 2 Sets the salt type used for binding 1=nacl,2=MgCl, 3=CMA, 4=CaCl2
activity_in_tunnels_flag 1 Sets flag disabling activities in tunnels 0=no activities,1=allows only cleaning,2=allows all activities
salt_after_ploughing_flag 1 Will salt after all snow ploughing in addition to other salting events
OUTPUT
plot_type_flag 2 1 = hourly, 2 = daily, 3 = daily cycle, 4 = 1/2 daily means , 5 = day of week, 7= weekly , 8= monthly
save_type_flag 1 1 = save data, 2 = save plots, 3 = save both, 4 = save data as text, 0 = none
save_init_data_as_netcdf_flag 1 0 = save as .txt files, 1 = save as .nc files
save_road_summary_data_as_netcdf_flag 1 0 = save as .txt files, 1 = save as .nc files, 3 = save as both .txt files and .nc files.
OSPM
use_ospm_flag 0 Runs OSPM for dispersion. 1 uses NORTRIP data, 2 uses ospm data in input file sheet 'OSPM' (2 NOT ACTIVE!)
FORECAST
forecast_hour 0 Set the number of hours for the road temperature forecasts. 0 is no forecast
forecast_type 1 Forecast type 1 is modelled forecast, 2 is persitence, 3 is linear interpolation, 4 is bias correction, 5 is flux correction
CONTROL
use_single_road_loop_flag 1 If set to 1 will use single road loop with continuous reading. This reduces memory usage but slows down the model
