Describe the bug
Acting as a senior developer, I am developing a sample AAS file manually using AASX Explorer. However, I am encountering an issue when trying to load a PDF file as a file property in the submodel. The file is not viewable, and a significant error is displayed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a supplemental file.
  2. Add a property (file) to the submodel and set the file value to the supplemental file. Also, add the source file and save it.
  3. Save the AAS file and open it again. Navigate to the file property and click on "SHOW CONTENT". The following error is thrown:

Expected behavior
The PDF file should be viewable without any errors when clicking on "SHOW CONTENT".

Hi @sekharkumar,

There are two ways to attach a file to a file element in a AASPE. I have failed to reproduce the issue both ways. Thus, I have described the steps for both the options below. Hope that helps. Also, you may try the latest version of AASPE.

Option 1: Directly from File element, without adding supplemental file first

  1. create file element.
  2. Add source file.
  3. Click on "Add or update to AASX"
  4. Save

Option 2: Adding Supplemental file first

  1. Add supplemntal file first.
  2. Create File element.
  3. Click on "Choose Supplemental file"
  4. Select the added file in step 1
  5. Save

Hi @juileetikekar,

Thank you so much help and support now i can be able to attach PDF in using file element.

Could you please explain how to deal with blob element (provide me the steps to create) and please provide and links of videos to explore more on the AASX explorer.

Thank you in advance
