This analysis uses current and recent river readings to assess correlation with known historical periods of landslide activity. The model currently does not use any forecast data.

There are some good models that predict river height and discharge changes based on current rainfall data. If there is a good correlation between river behavior and landslide activity, incorporating short-term forecast data should improve notification times.

I will not likely be able to do this analysis. This becomes full-time work for me because there are so many pieces to research and then pull together. Someone already familiar with current best approaches to river forecasting can likely integrate those predictions into this model more efficiently than I can.
