Describe the bug
The chat templates are duplicated if we keep on clicking over one chat template for a few times

Kibana/Elasticsearch Stack version

VERSION: 8.18.0
BUILD: 82206
COMMIT: 33e6754d67870b0e403266b752c3973539506cc6

Steps

  1. Kibana version 8.18.0 or above should exist
  2. There should be no AI connector added
  3. Navigate to the Attack Discovery tab under Security
  4. Click on the 'Ask AI Assistant' button
  5. Click on the expand icon to select the chat format
  6. Click on single chat template option for a few times
    • I clicked for 5-6 times
  7. Observe the chat templates are duplicated

Expected Result
The chat templates are duplicated if we keep on clicking over one chat template for a few time

Hello @muskangulati-qasource ,

I tried it locally with 8.18 but wasn't able to reproduce.

Local:

I also tried it in a 8.18 cloud deployment, but it had a connector set up by default, so wasn't able to reproduce it either.

Hi @angorayc,

Thank you for looking into our issue.

We have revalidated this issue on the latest 8.18.0 BC4 build and the same issue is occurring there as well.

Please find below the testing details:

Build details

VERSION: 8.18.0
BUILD: 82490
COMMIT: ae1aab129ef51cc630de904654b05ef18baaaa59

Steps followed

  1. Kibana version 8.18.0 or above should exist (Deployed through cloud production)
  2. There should be no AI connector added
  3. Navigate to the Attack Discovery tab under Security
  4. Click on the 'Ask AI Assistant' button
  5. Click on the expand icon to select the chat format
  6. Click on single chat template option for a few times
    - I clicked for 5-6 times and then waited for almost a minute
  7. Observe the chat templates are duplicated

Should be resolved by #211831

Will be in 8.19/9.1

@stephmilovic is there any reason why the fix is not going to be present on 8.18.0 release?

@MadameSheema, #211831 was a large refactor including both conversation pagination, and the removal of the default conversations that this bug affects, so that's why it's only targeting 8.19/9.1.

@MadameSheema since it is impact:medium and resolved in 8.19, I think other issues take priority.

@spong @stephmilovic lots of thanks for the clarification!! I was curious since we have at least 3 more BCs before releasing 8.18.
