iPhone Client Cannot Download and View WEBM Videos #7903

Steps to reproduce

  1. Send a video in WEBM format from another client (e.g., desktop or Android).
  2. Open the iPhone client and locate the received WEBM video.
  3. Try to download and open the video on the iPhone.

Outcome

What did you expect?

  1. The video should be downloadable.
  2. The video should be playable within the iPhone client or using the iOS default media player.
  3. The video can be downloaded.

What happened instead?

  1. The video does not download
  2. The video cannot be opened/viewed.
  3. Error "PHPhotosError-Domain error 3302" received.

Hi!
I have the same problem on iPhone.
I checked matrix-synapse server logs - there is no any errors, just HTTP 200 OK reply on "GET /_matrix/client/v1/media/download/..." request.

Same issue. Lack of WEBM support on iOS' Element is a blocker for my company. We've been looking for using it, but this is really stopping us.
