Steps to reproduce

  1. Where are you starting? What can you see?

Happened on startup of my Ubuntu

Outcome

I have been using Elements for a while on android phone, so I have a long chat history. I just restarted from Windows (I don't have Elements on Windows). My internet connection took some time to initialize and I guess Element could not "phone home" for a while.

What did you expect?

The application to open normally

What happened instead?

"We encountered an error trying to restore your previous session.

If you have previously used a more recent version of Element, your session may be incompatible with this version. Close this window and return to the more recent version.

Clearing your browser's storage may fix the problem, but will sign you out and cause any encrypted chat history to become unreadable."

I killed the application and the error disappeared, I did not click "clear storage and sign out". I still have access to all my former and recent archive.

Element version: 1.11.55

Please install the latest, we don't support anything other than that. You're over 2 months out of date

@t3chguy t3chguy closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Mar 26, 2024
