Steps to reproduce

Try to install element x in testflight on an iphone x running its latest ios 16.7.10.

Outcome

I have been happily using this all for years now, but it suddenly disappeared from my phone.

When I checked TestFlight it shows that I now have “Incompatible Hardware”.

I tried looking through the release notes but found now change relating to some feature that would make my device unable to use the app.

Maybe there was an accidental configuration change somewhere that marked this app incompatible?

This wasn't an accident I'm afraid, the change was made here. We have committed to maintaining support for the 2 most recent versions of iOS so the app now requires iOS 17+. By our calculations this means we support around 50 different devices going back 7 years.

As TestFlight builds expire after 90 days, older versions will no longer be available, but if you ever downloaded the app from the App Store when iOS 16 was supported, then you should be able to reinstall the latest version supported by your device.
