FLAC converted to MP3 and replaygain tags #661

I tried applying the gain before converting from mp3 to flac, and the outcome hasn't changed unfortunately. Is there any other conversion software worth a try? |

If your FLAC files contain Replay Gain information in the usual tag fields - replaygain_track_gain, replaygain_track_peak, replaygain_album_gain and replaygain_album_peak - , fre:ac will transfer those fields to corresponding ID3v2 text fields when converting to MP3. This can be disabled on the Tag fields page of the configuration dialog, but it should be enabled by default. |

I think there is a bug in a program I use; Jellyfin. I recently upgraded from 10.9.7 to 10.10.3. I have a number of songs that were originally .ogg and converted them to .mp3 (I know, I know) with freac. I replaced some of them with .mp3s concerted from .flac and that's where the problems started. (The files played at their original volume, without replaygain). The remaining .ogg files showed the same behavior after moving them out and back into Jellyfin. After removing the server and moving back to 10.9.7, it all went back the way it should. |

Hello all,
Is there anything freac might do when converting from flac to mp3 that might render the replaygain tags unusable?
I've been trying to play some of my converted files but the replaygain is simply not being used. The rest of my files work normally, and the only thing I can think of is that the not-working filed were the only converted files.
Thanks in advance.
