Minutes & Discussion points

• Follow Up Items:

  • TAWG to provide their update to the TOC #3517
    • Chris proposed directing the TOC to the project board for progress updates and suggested that individuals with specific TOC requests should raise them as issues on the project board, tagging the TOC contact.
  • FpML coding schemes validation through typeAlias conditions #3512
    • Update on the Type Alias issue with the proposal involving using strings with metadata for external coding schemes and the availability of functions for validation against custom lists. Questions regarding the inclusion of source information in the serialized form and the implications for interoperability and security. @manel-martos and @mgratacos clarified that the source information is available through a separate object and discussed the flexibility for implementers to use their own data sources.

• Current Items:

  • Maven zip file corruption #3504
    • Chris proposed renaming a mislabeled zipped tar file to .tar.gz for clarity, which was approved.
  • Dependabot update
    • Concerns about the ad-hoc handling of Dependabot PRs and suggested a more structured approach involving triaging updates by urgency and impact, assigning owners for review, and establishing turnaround times. The group agreed to make this the main topic for the next meeting to establish a clear strategy for managing dependency updates.

Action Items

• @chrisisla : Tag Elspeth (TOC) on the GitHub issue to get her feedback on the proposed communication process.
• @chrisisla : Add "Dependabot Triage Strategy" as the primary agenda item for the next meeting.
• @chrisisla: Update the relevant issues (including the TOC update and the rename issue) with the decisions made during the meeting.
• @manel-martos: Create the PR for Bump ch.qos.logback:logback-classic from 1.4.4 to 1.4.12 #2554 to remove the Logback implementation from the main project.
• @manel-martos: Further clarification in the issue for FpML coding schemes validation through typeAlias conditions #3512, particularly regarding the inclusion of reference data source information in the serialized form.
