Feature and bugfix release! Marked as "V2.0" because 7-zip is the new archive engine.

New file formats supported!

• 7z / cb7
• djvu

Issues addressed:

• Thumbnails not created for ZIP files larger than 2 gb #90 : zip files larger than 2G supported
• Certain ZIPs won't show thumbnails #33 : some zip files weren't working with Unzip
• Install new version is blocked when another version is already installed #35 : "version is blocked" message when trying to install new version. Note: I still recommend the uninstall / install for preference, as a "replacement" install appears to require a Windows restart!

Known Limitation!
Currently requires being installed in "C:\Program Files\DarkThumbs" folder! If you want to install in a different location, you must copy 7z.dll from the install folder into "C:\Windows\System32".

I can't seem to install this. Had previously installed 1.9. Uninstalled it. First time I tried to install 2.0 i receveid a message saying to close down explorer. Did so, still didnt work.
Rebooted, now I get a message saying "The installer encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2503." I hit okay, then I get the same message again, only this time, "The error code is 2502". Any ideas. Didn't have this problem when I installed 1.9 back in the day.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. The V2.0 installer is a little different from V1.9 as additional files are installed. I'd need to know what version of Windows, whether you installed for "everyone", and if you changed the default install location.

All search results regarding "error code 2502/2503" suggest problems with the windows "temp" folder: permissions or whatnot. For example.

This link provides info on how to get "verbose logging" during the install.

I hope these help and we can find out how to fix the issue.
