Help with proxy setup...

I'm having a heck of a time setting up the production environment to be secure.

I have a 'double reverse proxy' setup.
Traffic comes in and is routed by NPM (Nginx Proxy Manager)
Forwards to the horilla server IP but then gets errors like, Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

Does anyone have and resources or suggestions for setting this up?
