If this works well might be worth replacing all the current imagine viewing code with snacks and enable it automatically if detected (like we do with the markdown previewer plugins)?

Aside from ueberzugpp which is pretty much Linux only (too many deps for mac), I’ve never been too happy with the current media viewers.
