I'm giving a little more room to breath with the lints, like dropping docs, adding exceptions in the code, and increasing the tolerance for some complexity tests. Those should be addressed in the future and are marked as so in the code, but I cannot do them all or we'll never finish this task.
Note that there are many deprecations, bugs, and some code oddities, like the use of assert, that ar fixed here. I plan to finish this part in this PR and move to the warnings next.
