Effect Blocks

Katorly edited this page Jun 20, 2023 · 2 revisions

There are currently 2 general blocks, 9 positive effect blocks and 5 negative effect blocks.

For the Saturation effect, you may want to have a look at Configuration#player instead.

How to use

Consisted of a concrete/concrete powder and an ore under it, effect blocks only work when a player stands on it.

For instance, to apply 120 seconds of Jump Boost I to players, you just have to place these two blocks on the ground like this:

Then when a player stands on it, he/she will get the effect. You can choose to use concrete or to use concrete powder, and the effects they give are the same.

The effect, duration and amplifier each combination gives are listed below.

Duration and Amplifier

General Rules:

  • The same kind of ores' duration are the same.
  • Common ores' amplifier: I
  • Deepslate ores' amplifier: II
Block Duration Amplifier Block Duration Amplifier
1s I 1s II
2s I 2s II
5s I 5s II
10s I 10s II
30s I 30s II
60s I 60s II
120s I 120s II
300s I 300s II
Infinite I Infinite II

Amplifier won't work on Clear All Effects, Instant DeathFire Resistance, Night Vision, Slow Falling, Water Breathing, Blindness, No Jumping, No Sprinting. So using common ores or deepslate ores doesn't matter when applying these effects.

1: To reduce as much health as that Regeneration gives, the Wither effect's amplifier is II for common ores, III for deepslate ores.
2: No Jumping is achieved by giving players a level of 128 Jump Boost.
