download never happens

Using the docker solution, hosting on ubuntu as backend and forwarding to aws ec2. Site is available but download doesn't work with or without a password. Without a password it pops up an additional browser window but download never happens. The site hosting the file also shows a false positive saying download complete. When i run it locally without a password download does execute but only when I use localhost:8080
