User defined tab widths

Is there a reason why it's forcing 2 character tabs?

It would be very useful to allow this to be configured by the user, or dictated by the file content. My json files are all 4 characters which this plugin overrides.

Good point. I removed it. You may want to look at https://github.com/tpope/vim-sleuth as well.
