Bug description

I get to the office and open my laptop lid, waking up the laptop, but before signing in, I decide to connect the monitor(s) at my desk. Sometimes this is fine, but sometimes it causes the screensaver to freeze. The mouse still moves, but the keyboard has no effect and clicking the screensaver has no effect. Last time, I had to REISUB my way out of the problem. I tried logical things like disconnecting the monitors, and sleeping and waking the laptop.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Lock the laptop.
  2. Close the lid.
  3. Change location.
  4. Open the lid.
  5. Don't unlock the screen.
  6. Connect a monitor (display).
  7. Possibly connect another.
  8. Sometimes the screensaver becomes unresponsive.

(I'm not sure whether steps 2-4 are required.)

Expected behavior

I should still be able to unlock the screen, but I would also expect the screensaver to appear on newly-connected monitors.
