[Help]: forgot password - is there a way to retrieve it / reset it?

Hi MBentley,
thx for all the work that you are doing here.
My SDN controller has been running great for 1-2 years, but unfortunately I cant remember the username/ password anymore.
Is there a way to retrieve it or to reset it without re-installing everything?

First would be if you have SMTP configured you can use the reset password from the login page. I'm assuming you don't have that but this post on the community forums mentions that if you have cloud access enabled, you can reset it from there.

I would have to imagine that there is a way to reset the password by directly manipulating the data in MongoDB but I also do not know exactly how they're storing the passwords so it might require having more knowledge about that, like if they're using a salted hash, it's not going to be so straight forward. I haven't seen any other methods from the forums about how to reset the password but it might be worth submitting a support case to see if they have any suggestions.
