did you know this porting made the community upset? #552

.NET is far from going anywhere, and I think this matter has already been addressed in the other thread by #411 (comment). We needed a language that would allow us to port quickly based on our existing codebase. What I really want to encourage people to keep in mind is that these technologies can coexist, and picking one language or runtime should not imply anything bad about others! |

We are deeply upset by this decision. As a community that has passionately supported .NET and C#, we expected Microsoft to stand by its own ecosystem, fostering growth and innovation from within. While we understand the need for pragmatic choices, it’s disheartening to see Go being prioritized over the technology that Microsoft itself champions. At the very least, we hope Microsoft acknowledges the concerns of the .NET community and takes meaningful steps to ensure its long-term commitment to the ecosystem we’ve invested in.
