Make expandMacro window configurable

Feature description

Currently, the expandMacro command opens in a split and gets resized by an arbitrary amount.

It would be nice to be able to configure where the window gets opened.

Also, reusing an existing window opened by expandMacro would be helpful too.

Since I rarely use this feature myself, it won't be of high priority for me.

Do you have already some logic for the creation of configurable windows, which I could reuse?

The window related stuff is here and the expand macro command is here.

Please note that I may reject PRs if I think the maintenance burden will be too high - that's why the UI for these commands is very basic.
