Hi all,
the new version 2.9.5 is GNU stow compatible and stow can be used to generate symbolic links from the dotfiles folder into the home & .config folder.
https://github.com/mylinuxforwork/dotfiles/tree/main/dotfiles
https://www.gnu.org/software/stow/
The activate.sh script is exactly doing that. Removing existing folders in the target directory and the execute stow . from the dotfiles folder.
This makes it possible to try out the ML4W Dotfiles on other distros. Of couse, some scripts created for Arch will not work. Checking for updates, etc. But the the most parts should be Arch independently.
Please share your experiences here in this discussion. I am curious to find out if there are options to port the Dotfiles to more distributions in the future.
