How is colors-waybar.css generated?

Hi,

All themes have the include to ../../../../../.cache/wal/colors-waybar.css which in this repo seems to be this template file: https://github.com/mylinuxforwork/dotfiles/blob/main/share/dotfiles/.config/wal/templates/colors-waybar.css

But where in your project are you creating/filling that file?

I'm asking because i just want a subset of your, admittedly, amazing looking waybar theme! But copying these files just to their place gives me this error:

colors-waybar.css:1:25'' is not a valid color name

Which is this line:

@define-color foreground {foreground};

Which makes me think this template (well the name already hints at it, it's a template...) is being updated/generated by something somewhere. But i can't find where. I'm guessing something somewhere with pywal but i can't find that for this file either.

As an aside, yes, i know i'm making it more complicated for myself but just grabbing one part of your amazing work and trying to get it to work. I might want to play with more of it later but at the moment i just want my waybar to look nice :)

The color scheme files are created by pywal with colors from your current wallpaper. I will convert your question to a discussion.

Alright, that's fancy and cool! Would you be able to provide the command that you use so that that file has the proper values to work for your themes?

A link to the part in your bash script files that does this would work too, i can figure it out from there.

Well, actually "figured" it out. I just ran wal -ei ~/wallpaper/default.jpg (after installing pywal and changing my wallpaperpath). It freaked me out a little because my whole terminal changes colors. And not for the best, lol. But somehow - and i have no clue why/how/where - the template file got updated too when running that. So now it just works. Sweet 😄
