Without loosing previous custom changes, how to update the ML4W dotfiles? #806
-
I've been using ml4w for quiet a few months, and ngl this is one of the best if not the best hyprland dotfiles. The thing I want to update to the latest version of the ML4W dotfiles, but I don't want to loose the custom changes I made. I just want to update whatever additional features or bug fixed have been done. I just tried updating the config using the method in the wiki, i.e. using the welcome window, but it changed all of my previous configuration. Of course there was a backup, and I also had snapper setup so I could easily rollback, but is there any way around this problem. Manually checking all the changes and then choosing which ones to keep will be a hassle. Is there any workaround for me to install the new features and bug fixes, while keeping my current configurations? P.S. This may be a silly question, but I am a not very good at linux (I'm definitely not a noob, but not a pro as well), so I request your understanding. |

you have to add a file called `PROTECTED´ to the directory you want to keep your customization. you can find more information here. |
