Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'destroy' of null

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Search something using web-search
2. While search results are displaying, open the settings for web-search
3. Change a setting (all is OK)
4. Change a setting a second time (whether you stay in the settings panel, or navigate away first or entirely close settings) => error occurs, settings change on screen, but are not saved
5. Error now persists on every setting change until Atom is restarted
