NB kilder is The National Library's source edition series. Most of the NB kilder books are results of ongoing philological projects at the library, the two largest being “Camilla Collett’s letters” and “Halfdan Kjerulf's diaries”. So far the library has published 30 books in the NB kilder series, among them are eight letter/correspondence editions.
The National Library has approximately 1.000 letters written by the Norwegian author Camilla Collett (1813–1895) in its manuscript collection. More than half of these letters have never been published. Collett’s handwriting is difficult to read, so there has been little research on them, and the library wants to make the letters more available by transcribing, encoding and publishing them.

The National Library has approximately 150 letters written by the Norwegian painter Kitty L. Kielland (1843–1914) in its manuscript collection and also many letters written to her. Three correspondence editions have been published in the NB kilder series: Kielland's letters to and from the Norwegian author Arne Garborg (1851–1924), the Norwegian painter Eilif Peterssen and her sister Dagmar Skavlan (1855–1931).
