What is the problem in the documentation?

The docs around the Obsidian open URI command are a little confusing. In particular, I'm not sure how to use the prepend or append options. Is the value supposed to be "true", or some content? I have tried various combinations and none of them seem to work. What I'd like to do is simply append or prepend a little bit of content to an existing note.
