Always show keymaps.

Right now, keymaps like change adapter only work in the chat window. But it would be nice to have an option to always show these keymaps.

As in not have them in the popup window?

My philosophy is to keep the chat buffer as clean as possible so I consider the convenience of being able to quickly show them and hide them to be okay. You can of course change them if they're not obvious to remember.

i mean that they should also work outside of the chat window.
For example, i have this in my config:

It only works in the chat window, but it would be nice if it worked everywhere.

Why would you change an adapter when you're not in the chat buffer? To make use of that change you'd need to toggle the chat buffer anyway.

I don't want to unnecessarily take up someone's keymap slots when the function is solely related to the chat buffer.

I understand, but I like grouping my keys, for example a is the group i use for ai stuff, so it doesnt really waste any keymap slots since a? for example has no other functionality. Besides, its also a bit annoying because the chat window has to be focused for the keymaps to work. Is it not possible to make this a setting in the plugin config?

You can do this in your CodeCompanion config, it will just be scoped to the chat buffer.

I guess what I'm failing to articulate is I don't see what the net benefit of what you're asking for, is. So you want to change the chat buffer's adapter and you want to do that away from the chat buffer. You'd then have to go into the chat buffer to make use of the changed adapter, at which point you may as well just have changed the adapter in the chat buffer anyway.

And what happens if you have multiple chat buffers open? Which buffer are you hoping to change the adapter for?

And for user's who don't want this functionality you then have to add a config option for them to disable it.

Never do that, I prefer Codecompanion.nvim over Avante.nvim because it is clean and does not always show keymaps on screen
