Following on from #2298 means the home page can be redesigned to better fit the needs of users who visit the page.

To consider

  • Homepage hero to better describe what OpenCodelists is
  • Calls to Action (CTA):
    • searching for existing codelists
    • creating new codelists
  • Show recently updated codelists (potentially from a curated list of organisations)
  • Highlight some organisations already using OpenCodelists, and highlight some of the codelists they have created (again this could be hand curated)

Checked with Chris W re: the homepage suggestions, with the mockup Thomas created last month.

  • Likes the layout - agrees it makes it easier to have orgs or recently published codelists shown on the homepage
  • Suggested that for the organisations, we should ideally show recently published (in the last 6 mths) and we should omit readcode and CTV3 codelists as they're irrelevant/less used.
  • Agreed that we could show NHSD (refsets - assuming they've been updated recently), OpenSAFELY and OpenPrescribing could be orgs that we start with.
  • Chris has been working on a blog that details how to create codelists - it could be good to link to this from the homepage too. The format of this blog is TBD (blog v published paper)

In addition to the above, we could add the latest blog posts from the Bennett website in a (newly created) OpenCodelists category.
