Prerequisites
What problem is your feature request going to solve? Please describe..
This call would have been appropriate for the last version. But with version 3.26 at the latest, it is a must.
With version 3.25, you moved the form submissions into the core. So far, so good. However, you have given yourself permission to enable this feature on all pages.
What right do you have to change such important settings? If I, as an admin, disable this experiment, you have no right to enable it again. After this update, we had to manually adjust the settings on hundreds of customer sites to disable it again.
You don't seem to understand the implications of your actions. All of our customers are in the EU. There is a GDPR in the EU - so you can't just turn it on like that. It's not allowed! I know you Americans don't care about that - but we do here in Europe.
Now, with 3.26 again, you are giving yourself permission to change a setting that is causing problems on a huge number of websites. I repeat: if I, as an admin, deactivate an experiment, what right do you have to reactivate it? What right do you have to introduce a feature into the core that cannot be deactivated?
What's more, this caching feature has a minimal use case. 95% of all WordPress sites use a page cache plugin. From that moment on, your cache is redundant. This feature was only introduced because you can't get a handle on your code from the core performance, so you made this unnecessary feature to make a tick on a checkbox.
You disregard the Admin's settings and just change them. This is arrogant and condescending. With each version, you become less and less popular with such actions.
So my final and serious question - what is going on in your heads?
Describe the solution you'd like.
Don't change admin settings!
