Bot idea: track users join date, and say hi on birthdays

Record or determine someones join date. when that day rolls around, in their timezone at X time, tell them happy slack birthday

Probably doable but I don't think there is a way to get this data from slack so it will only works with new people.

We should also add a way to not email them if they decided to leave the team during the year.

I think this feature concept is probably part of a milestone/epic of “gamify”ing the team (effectively badges and such). If we want that we need a larger milestone to capture the ideas, if not we can close this.

I’m neutral on the idea for myself, but not opposed.

I think we will need to revisit some issues to see if they are still applicable. Maybe once we have merged the website & sirbot we will see a more clearly when can be done in short / long term
